TLC Core Values

TLC, Teaching Learning Community; since its inception, it has been able to influence more than 2000 entrepreneurs located in Nashik, Sinnar, Sangli, Kolhapur, Ahmednagar, Satara, Karad and Pune. We currently have more than 1100 active members who are CEOs of SMEs from Manufacturing, IT, Services, Pharma, hospitals, trading and Chartered Accountancy, in the age group ranging from 23 to 70 years. Our unique methodology empowers and enables members to create further ripples around them.

TLC works on the following four Core Values:

  • Knowing by doing
  • Learning by Teaching
  • Creating Ripples
  • Excellence and Beyond

Knowing by Doing

Just as one cannot learn swimming, dancing, or painting by just reading books, best practices in business will only give results when entrepreneurs implement the proven ideas and concepts, they learn in TLC sessions. This value hence -

  • Acknowledges the importance of practical application in learning.
  • Draws parallels between learning business practices and acquiring skills like swimming or painting.
  • Emphasizes the need for entrepreneurs to implement proven ideas and concepts in their businesses for tangible results.

Learning by Teaching

The entrepreneurial journey in TLC starts with unlearning, learning, doing, teaching, and again repeating this cycle. Not only does one acquire the conviction as a teacher with self-practice, but one also learns more and in depth, when one tries to teach others. So here the second value -

  • Highlights the cyclical nature of the entrepreneurial journey: unlearning, learning, doing, teaching, and repeating.
  • Stresses that teaching reinforces one's own understanding and deepens knowledge.
  • Suggests that individuals become effective teachers only through self- practice, creating a symbiotic relationship between teaching and personal growth.

Creating Ripples

Every TLCian, through his/her diligence in implementing TLC learnings and thereby succeeding in business will on his/her own initiate a ripple effect. By this ripple effect, entrepreneurs around will take notice and will want to emulate this success by an urge to belong to this ever-growing community and thereby creating a pocket of excellence. This value hence –

  • Proposes that every successful TLCian creates a ripple effect by implementing learned strategies in their businesses.
  • Expects that this success will attract other entrepreneurs who aspire to emulate the achievements of the TLC community.
  • Envisions the expansion of excellence as more entrepreneurs join the community, creating pockets of excellence in various regions.

Excellence and Beyond

TLC believes that there is life beyond business. While business can be seen to be a means of making money, it can also serve as a vehicle to empower the entrepreneur to explore wider horizons of discovering self-potential, indulging in other hobbies and interests, giving quality to family and society, and helping others. As Viktor Frankl says, the true meaning of life is in making life meaningful. The last yet most important value amongst all the core values -

  • Encourages entrepreneurs to view business as more than just a means of making money.
  • Advocates for business as a platform to explore personal potential, engage in hobbies, contribute to family and society, and help others.
  • Aligns with the philosophy that the true meaning of life involves making life meaningful, echoing Viktor Frankl's perspective.

To summarize, TLC's approach is holistic, aiming not only to enhance business acumen but also to foster personal growth, community engagement, and a broader sense of purpose.
