The Teaching Learning Community, popularly known as TLC, completed 19 years of successful journey on 10th February 2024. This endeavor is run free of cost and believes in the fact that the real payback to TLC comes from entrepreneurs who have benefited from TLC, start teaching others to do better business and the chain goes on. TLC was founded in 2005 as community of 15 entrepreneurs in and around Nashik who wanted to achieve value-based breakthrough growth. TLC was inspired by Stephen Covey's reference to Dr. William W. Wierwille’s experiment in “The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People,” where Wierwille utilized a highly interactive teaching approach. With 1,000 students, rather than adopting a traditional lecture style, he actively engaged them in discussions, group activities, and peer teaching to enhance the learning experience and encourage personal responsibility for their education.

The second inspiration came from Napoleon Hill’s book, 'Think and Grow Rich,' where he discusses the Principle and Power of the Master Mind: Surrounding yourself with a supportive network of like-minded individuals.

What unites, sustains growth, and empowers this community is its leadership. Over a period, the informal exchange of ideas gave way to a structured entrepreneurship program, but with a difference. The program is continual and believes in unlearning, learning, doing and teaching various business concepts to derive dramatic results in areas of leadership, strategy, financial results, employee pride, customer success and social responsibility.

Core Values

Knowing by Doing

Just as one cannot learn swimming, dancing, or painting by just reading books, best practices in business will only give results when entrepreneurs implement the proven ideas and concepts, they learn in TLC sessions.

Learning by Teaching

The entrepreneurial journey in TLC starts with unlearning, learning, doing, teaching, and again repeating this cycle. Not only does one acquire the conviction as a teacher with self-practice, but one also learns more and in depth when one tries to teach others. So, while the TLCians are morally qualified to teach only when they practice, the teaching activity itself helps the TLCian to be more aware of his/her knowledge and implementation in his/her business.

Creating Ripples

Every TLCian, through his/her diligence in implementing TLC learning and thereby succeeding in business will on his/her own initiate a ripple effect, by which other entrepreneurs around will take notice and will want to emulate this success by wanting to belong to this every growing community and thereby creating a pocket of excellence.

Excellence and Beyond

TLC believes that there is life beyond business. While business can be seen to be a means of making money, it can also serve as a vehicle to empower the entrepreneur to explore wider horizons of discovering self-potential, indulging in other hobbies and interests, giving quality to family and society, and helping others. As Victor Frankl says, the true meaning of life is in making life meaningful.
